Star Council Award Ceremony and Dinner

Saturday November 16 was an evening to remember for all members of our council. Worthy State Deputy Stan Schroeder was at hand during the five o'clock mass at St. Rita's to present the Star Council Award to Past Grand Knight Scott Stewart . Also present were District Deputy Pete Karculias and Insurance Field Agent Jay Eisele.

The Star Council Award, given by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council to a small selection of councils across the world, recognizes outstanding achievement in membership, insurance and Service Program activities.

This was a highly significant achievement for our young council which was only chartered in March, 2007.

The council took this opportunity to make two presentations of its own. Scott Stewart presented a check for $674 to the local president of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul on behalf of the Council. The donated money is the Council's share of the proceeds from the State Raffle tickets which were sold by our council members.

Insurance field agent Jay Eisele presented an annuity certificate totaling $300 on behalf of the Council to our Worthy Chaplain and pastor Rev. Father John Allt.

After mass, Council officers treated our guests to dinner at Buddy's Grill in Rita Ranch.
